Softball Recap: Miller Beats Southwest for Their Second Straight Victory

Miller won the last time they faced Southwest and things went their way on Monday too. Miller's pitchers stepped up to hand Southwest a 12-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Miller and bumps their season record up to 6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Southwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Miller Cardinals take on Lockwood Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Miller 2, Lockwood 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Southwest, they will challenge Galena at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
