Baseball Recap: Elk Lake's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Elk Lake dropped their record down to 12-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins on the road. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (2-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The contest marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Elk Lake saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alden Felker, who went 1-for-3 with one run. That run marked the first that Felker has scored this season.

As for Dunmore, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. The win was nothing new for Dunmore as they're now sitting on five straight.

On Dunmore's side, Max Forgione made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Forgione has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Stets, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Elk Lake and Dunmore should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Warriors (ranked 176th) will meet Forest City (ranked 611th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Dunmore will face off against Holy Cross at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (64 vs. 433).
