Basketball Recap: Jackson Christian Gets the Win

Jackson Christian hadn't done well against Trinity Christian Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Jackson Christian Eagles snuck past the Trinity Christian Academy Lions with a 59-53 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mallory Arnold, who posted seven points. Rylee Hidrogo was another key player, going 5 of 12 on her way to 14 points.

Jackson Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season.

Jackson Christian and Trinity Christian Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Jackson Christian will face off against Tipton-Rosemark Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday up 238 places (109 vs. 347). Meanwhile, Trinity Christian Academy (ranked 131st) will meet Fayette Academy (ranked 371st) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
