Basketball Game Preview: North Star Knights vs. Box Elder Bears

North Star and Box Elder are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The North Star Knights will be playing at home against the Box Elder Bears at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Saturday, North Star came up short against Turner and fell 57-46.

Meanwhile, Box Elder also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Fort Benton by a score of 46-37. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Longhorns recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

North Star will need focus on slowing down Shareece Raining Bird, one of several Box Elder players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 15 points. That's the most points Raining Bird has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Martay Stiffarm-Rosette, who put up 11 points.

North Star's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Box Elder, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

North Star was able to grind out a solid victory over Box Elder in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 52-45. Does North Star have another victory up their sleeve, or will Box Elder turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
