Basketball Recap: Western Alamance Victorious

Western Alamance's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 66-53 victory over the Southeast Guilford Falcons.

When it comes to explaining why Southeast Guilford lost, don't look at Byron Arant. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 16 en route to 17 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of William Okombi, who posted seven points.

Western Alamance's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Southeast Guilford, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-10.

Western Alamance and Southeast Guilford could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Western Alamance (ranked 253rd) will meet Orange (ranked 100th) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Southeast Guilford will challenge Grimsley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 183 places (346 vs. 163).
