Soccer Game Preview: Lakewood vs. Darlington

Lakewood hasn't had much luck against Darlington recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lakewood Gators will host the Darlington Falcons at 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lakewood's offense. They lost 7-0 to Wilson on Tuesday. The loss was the Gators' first of the season.

Meanwhile, everything went Darlington's way against Lower Richland on Tuesday as Darlington made off with a 9-1 win. With the Falcons ahead 3-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

The victory made it two in a row for Darlington and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those two contests. As for Lakewood, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Lakewood might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Darlington in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Lakewood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
