Basketball Recap: Josey Extends Winning Streak to Nine

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Josey had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 72-26 victory over the Pierce County Bears. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Josey to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kerri Fluellen, who went 7-for-9 on her way to 17 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Fluellen has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 54 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Za'Miyah Jenkins z, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 boards.

The win (which was Josey's ninth in a row) raised their record to 22-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points over those games. As for Pierce County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-20.

Looking ahead, Josey will look to defend their home court on Friday against Butler at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Josey's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. Pierce County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
