Baseball Recap: Glenns Ferry's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

If Glenns Ferry was feeling good fresh off their 8-1 takedown of Idaho City on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pilots fell just short of the North Fremont Huskies by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. The Pilots' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Bryce Sterling was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Sterling wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alan Mesillas, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Glenns Ferry's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for North Fremont, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Glenns Ferry wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-1 defeat against Malad on the 11th. As for North Fremont, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-3 loss against Soda Springs on the 11th.
