Baseball Recap: Coahoma Triumphs

After losing to Lamesa the last time they met, Coahoma decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Coahoma Bulldogs came out on top against the Lamesa Tornadoes by a score of 8-5 on Tuesday.

Theron Ott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Oden, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Green, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Coahoma kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lamesa only managed four hits.

Coahoma now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lamesa, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-6.

Coincidentally, Coahoma and Lamesa will both be playing Brownfield the next time they take the field. Coahoma will head out to face Brownfield at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Lamesa will host them at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
