Softball Recap: Superior Spartans vs. Hibbing Bluejackets
Superior's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They skirted past the Hibbing Bluejackets 7-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Superior also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.
Ari Robillard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits.
On the hitting side, Melania Luostari was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and two runs. She hasn't dropped below three RBI for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alayna Degraef, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and a double.
Superior's victory bumped their record up to 9-6-1. As for Hibbing, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-3.
Superior will be playing at home against Prescott at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hibbing, they will head out on the road to challenge Hermantown at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
