Baseball Recap: Palmer Takes a Loss

Palmer had lost eight straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-13 to make it nine. They lost 15-1 to the Canon City Tigers. The Terrors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Palmer saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dyson Sharpton, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Sharpton has launched this season.

As for Canon City, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.

On Canon City's side, Trey Schumaker was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Schumaker has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Chavez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

While Palmer had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
