Basketball Recap: Fossil Ridge Comes Up Short

Fossil Ridge was the 51-47 winner over Rocky Mountain when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the Fossil Ridge SaberCats and the Rocky Mountain Lobos didn't end well, with the Fossil Ridge SaberCats falling 56-40.

When it comes to explaining why Fossil Ridge lost on Tuesday, don't look at Gianna Leone. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points. Elli Johnson was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.

Meela Delap continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Rocky Mountain, almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kenna Wagner, who went 7 for 11 en route to 14 points and six steals.

Fossil Ridge dropped their record down to 11-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Rocky Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Fossil Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-31 win against Loveland on the 31st. Rocky Mountain has also already played their next game, a 61-42 victory against Fort Collins on the 31st.
