Softball Game Preview: Richton Rebels vs. Bay Springs Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Richton will face off against Bay Springs. The Rebels will venture away from home to face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Richton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Richton beat Bay Springs 8-4. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Brayleigh Parker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eliza Kelly was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Kaylee Paris was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Richton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Bay Springs has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Richton, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
