Basketball Game Preview: Ridge View Blazers vs. Sumter Gamecocks

The Ridge View Blazers will venture away from home to challenge the Sumter Gamecocks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Ridge View came up short against Blythewood and fell 59-46. While losing is never fun, the Blazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Bengals are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Sumter lost to Blythewood on the road by a 53-34 margin on Friday. The match marked the Gamecocks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ridge View's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 16-8. As for Sumter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.

Ridge View strolled past Sumter in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 58-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ridge View since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
