Football Recap: Harvest Christian Academy Comes Up Short at Home Against Westlake Academy

Harvest Christian Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Westlake Academy Blacksmiths by a score of 35-32 on Friday. Despite 88 more yards than the Blacksmiths, the Saints couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

When it comes to explaining why Harvest Christian Academy lost, don't look at Armando Franklin. Despite the final result, he rushed for 115 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries, and also picked up 61 receiving yards and one score. Franklin didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made eight total tackles. Another player making a difference was Chance Bramer, who rushed for 125 yards and a pair of TDs.

Looking ahead, Harvest Christian Academy is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Garland Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Westlake Academy, they will welcome Lakehill Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
