Volleyball Game Preview: Gunn Titans vs. Wilcox Chargers

The Gunn Titans will take on the Wilcox Chargers at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Gunn is returning to their home court after beating Los Altos on theirs, despite the fact Los Altos has dominated at home this season. The Titans had just enough and edged out the Eagles 3-2 on Wednesday.

Gunn had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 23-25, 25-16, 25-23, 15-7.

Wilcox not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 26th (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on Saratoga with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

Wilcox never let Saratoga on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-16.

Wilcox's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Gunn, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Gunn came out on top in a nail-biter against Wilcox in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
