Preview: Belle Fourche Broncs vs. Sturgis Brown Scoopers
Belle Fourche and Sturgis Brown are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Belle Fourche Broncs will stay at home for another game and welcome the Sturgis Brown Scoopers at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Belle Fourche will be strutting in after a victory while Sturgis Brown will be coming in after a loss.
On Saturday, Belle Fourche earned a 52-45 win over Kadoka.
It was another big night for Jet Jensen, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Wahlfeldt, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Sturgis Brown's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They suffered a rough 66-46 defeat at the hands of Hot Springs. While losing is never fun, Sturgis Brown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Hot Springs is ranked 15th).
Belle Fourche's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Sturgis Brown, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-10.
Belle Fourche suffered a grim 62-37 defeat to Sturgis Brown in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Belle Fourche was down 38-18.
