Basketball Game Preview: North Park Wildcats vs. Vail Mountain Gore Rangers

North Park is 0-9 against Vail Mountain since January of 2016 but things could change on Saturday. The North Park Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vail Mountain Gore Rangers at 2:30 p.m. North Park will be strutting in after a win while Vail Mountain will be coming in after a loss.

North Park is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They secured a 54-50 W over Rangely on Saturday.

North Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gavin Pittington led the charge by going 9 of 21 en route to 21 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Reyes, who posted 16 points and seven boards.

Pittington wasn't the only one working in the assists department: North Park was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Vail Mountain ended up a good deal behind Middle Park on Tuesday and lost 72-57. The Gore Rangers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Park's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-5. As for Vail Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
