Basketball Recap: Iliana Rodriguez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Franklin Academy over Wake Prep Academy

Franklin Academy played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Wake Prep Academy Guardians, falling 57-35. The Patriots' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Franklin Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Iliana Rodriguez, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Bella DeLiso, who had ten points.

Wake Prep Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Journey Johnson led the charge by going 8 for 16 on her way to 19 points and seven steals. Beanie Ballman was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 steals.

Franklin Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Wake Prep Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
