Baseball Game Preview: San Dieguito Academy Mustangs vs. Elsinore Tigers

The San Dieguito Academy Mustangs will take on the Elsinore Tigers in a tournament on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

San Dieguito Academy got a good showing from Nathan Calm, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Calm a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, San Dieguito Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Garrison, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Aidan Needles also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Elsinore didn't have quite enough to beat Temescal Canyon on Friday and fell 4-3. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elsinore's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for San Dieguito Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
