Football Recap: Odyssey Institute Minotaur vs. Youngker Roughriders
Odyssey Institute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Youngker Roughriders 37-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Minotaur of the 50-15 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Youngker's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaiah Hargrove, who rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Jairis Shaw did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 85 receiving yards.
Odyssey Institute's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Youngker, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Odyssey Institute will square off against Tempe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Odyssey Institute focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday. As for Youngker, they will welcome Marcos de Niza at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
