Soccer Recap: Redondo Union Gets the Win

Redondo Union won the last time they faced South and things went their way on Friday too. The Redondo Union Sea Hawks came out on top in a nail-biter against the South Spartans, sneaking past 1-0. Given the Sea Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Spartans are ranked 246th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Redondo Union's one-goal win came courtesy of Christian Carozza, who's now up to four this season.

Redondo Union's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for South, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Coincidentally, Redondo Union and South will both be playing Palos Verdes the next time they take the pitch. South will host Palos Verdes at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Redondo Union will head out to face them at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
