Basketball Recap: Edgar Takes a Loss

Edgar was the 60-49 winner over Stratford when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Edgar Wildcats took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stratford Tigers on Friday. The match marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Edgar and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Stratford, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edgar will venture away from home to challenge Auburndale at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Stratford will take on Newman in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Stratford is facing Newman at the right time seeing as Newman is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
