Syracuse University landed its third Class of 2019 pledge Sunday, receiving a commitment from Joseph Girard III of Glens Falls (N.Y.), the New York state high school scoring leader.

The talented multi-sport star has been on another level, putting up eye-popping numbers both on the basketball court and on the gridiron.

As a junior last season, Girard passed Lance Stephenson's all-time scoring record for the Empire State. Averaging more than 50 points, seven rebounds and six assists per game in 2017-18, the first team MaxPreps Junior All-American led the Indians to a 20-3 record.

The scoring-machine enters his senior season with more than 3,300 career points as he continues to ascend the national high school basketball career scoring ranks.

The 6-foot-2 guard made the announcement he would play for the Orange at Glen Falls, choosing Jim Boeheim's local ACC program over Penn State, Duke, Boston College, Michigan and Notre Dame.
