Lumen Christi Catholic entered their tilt with Napoleon on Wednesday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They had just enough and edged out the Pirates  4-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  9-2  on Wednesday.
 Ollie Powers was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out eight batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off   five  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than eight  strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with three  RBI and one  double.
 Powers wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Alison Furnas, who  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases. Those  two  stolen bases gave  Furnas a new career-high.
Lumen Christi Catholic pushed their record up to 22-7 with the  win, which was their sixth straight  at home. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Napoleon,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 7-9.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lumen Christi Catholic will welcome Central Catholic  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Napoleon, they will host East Jackson  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Pirates are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on  an  eight-game losing streak.
