Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Prep Stars vs. Huss Huskies

The Mountain View Prep Stars and the Huss Huskies will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View Prep has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with five straight losses, while Huss will come in with three straight victories.

Mountain View Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They lost 47-24 to Dreher two weeks ago.

Despite the defeat, Mountain View Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Avery Caldwell posted 12 points in addition to six boards and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Caldwell has scored all season.

Even though they lost, Mountain View Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Huss humbled North Gaston with a 62-15 victory. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Wildcats are ranked 501st), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mountain View Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Huss, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
