Basketball Recap: Colfax Takes a Loss

Colfax fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Freeman on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 63-62 to the Freeman Scotties. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-43 two weeks ago.

Freeman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taylee Phelps, who posted 20 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Rylee Russell, who went 7 of 13 en route to 16 points and seven steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Colfax and nudges their season record down to 9-11. As for Freeman, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Looking ahead, Colfax will face off against St. George's at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Freeman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
