Softball Game Preview: Highland Springs Springers vs. Cosby Titans

The Highland Springs Springers are taking a road trip to face off against the Cosby Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland Springs has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Highland Springs is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Varina just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 11-10.

Meanwhile, Cosby has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.27 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hanover. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aislin Bossler and Amelia McCovick stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bossler went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI, while McCovick went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Camryn Shaver was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Highland Springs' loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Cosby, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
