Southern Choctaw took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Fruitdale Pirates.
Emerald Dunigan was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Remmi McMichael was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Southern Choctaw will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Millry at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fruitdale, they will take on University Charter in a tournament on Friday.
