Doniphan-Trumbull skates past Kenesaw with ease

Recap: Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals vs. Kenesaw Blue Devils

The Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 21 points or more this season. They breezed by Kenesaw on the road to the tune of 64-23. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-8.

Leading Doniphan-Trumbull to victory were Jake Collinson and Ty Bennett. Collinson scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Bennett scored 15 points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for Collinson. Kaedan Detamore was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Kenesaw struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

The victory for Doniphan-Trumbull keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Kenesaw, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Doniphan-Trumbull will head out on the road to face off against Central City at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Central City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Doniphan-Trumbull is ranked 34th). Kenesaw will be home for the holidays to greet Silver Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
