            Baseball Recap: Naperville North Huskies vs. Naperville Central Redhawks        
        
		
        
        
            Naperville North barely beat Naperville Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Huskies' pitcher stepped up to hand the Redhawks  a   9-0 shutout  on Thursday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season,  with their most recent  victory being a  8-6  win  on Tuesday.
 Matt Sonnenschein made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit over five innings pitched. He has become a key player for Naperville North: the team is 2-1 when he allows at  most  one  hit, but 5-7 otherwise. Sonnenschein was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with one  run and one  RBI.

 In other batting news,  Zach Bava was  excellent,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  stolen bases and one  run. Those  two  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high.  Max Steele was another key player,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  runs and one  stolen base.
Naperville North's victory  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 7-8. As for Naperville Central,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 9-8.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Naperville North will welcome St. Francis  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their  ninth straight  win, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Naperville Central, they will take on Oswego East at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
