Basketball Recap: Normandy Comes Up Short

Normandy lost against Rocky River back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Normandy Invaders took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rocky River Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Invaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 574th, while the Pirates are ranked 216th).

Rocky River was led to victory by Danny Berg and Jacob Radcliffe. Berg went 6-for-14 on his way to 15 points and five assists, while Radcliffe posted 17 points. The matchup was Radcliffe's seventh in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jeffrey Maslar, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 10 points.

Normandy has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Rocky River, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-7.

Normandy has already played their next contest (against Lincoln West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Rocky River also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against Shaker Heights.
