Bishop McNamara is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Paul VI, who was ranked 14th in their home state at the time (Bishop McNamara was ranked 21st). Bishop McNamara took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paul VI on Tuesday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Willis Coppedge made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-4. Kamryn Knott was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Gonzaga, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over St. Albans on Wednesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Bishop McNamara's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Gonzaga, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Bishop McNamara suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Gonzaga in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Bishop McNamara avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
