Baseball Recap: King's Academy Lions vs. Heathwood Hall Episcopal Highlanders
After flying high against Heathwood Hall Episcopal last Tuesday, King's Academy came back down to earth. The Lions fell just short of the Highlanders by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Highlanders earlier this season, when they won 12-6.
Kip Perkins was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Turner, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
King's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3-1. As for Heathwood Hall Episcopal, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.
Coming up, King's Academy will challenge Florence Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Heathwood Hall Episcopal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
