Softball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Lamar's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Ten must be Lamar's lucky number: they beat Lee Central with that score not once but twice on Wednesday. The Silver Foxes didn't even let the Stallions on the board, marking the Silver Foxes' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Silver Foxes, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Abby McManus made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McManus was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Jordyn Scarbrough was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Zyra Spann was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.

Lamar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Lamar has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Lee Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Coming up, Lamar is taking a road trip to face off against Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lee Central, they will face off against Great Falls at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.56 runs per game on average), something the Stallions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
