Baseball Game Preview: Anchor Bay Tars vs. Fraser Ramblers

Anchor Bay is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Fraser is on an eight-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tars will welcome the Ramblers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Anchor Bay's victory against St. Clair wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tars had just enough and edged out the Saints 4-3. The Tars haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Zach Clemons looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Isaiah Domey was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Fraser beat Lakeview 9-5 on Wednesday.

Frankie Cross and Ben Essian did most of the damage at the plate: Cross got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Essian went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases Essian has posted over his last nine games. Another player making a difference was Camden Townsend, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Fraser has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Anchor Bay, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.

Anchor Bay beat Fraser 4-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Will the Tars repeat their success, or do the Ramblers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
