Basketball Recap: Fairfield Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fairfield can now relate to. They were dealt a 69-35 defeat at the hands of the Sycamore Aviators on Wednesday. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-18.

Sycamore got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooke Burgess out in front who went 9-for-13 en route to 20 points. Kenadie Benjamin was another key player, going 8-for-9 to rack up 17 points.

Fairfield has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Sycamore, they pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Fairfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sycamore, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Princeton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
