Baseball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Baldwin Park

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Baldwin Park ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Nogales Nobles 2-1. While the Braves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-15-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Julian Huerta made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Huerta wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gadiel Castellanos, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Baldwin Park pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Nogales, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
