Soccer Recap: Riverton/Tri-City Takes a Loss

Riverton/Tri-City lost against Hillsboro back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hawks lost 8-0 to the Hiltoppers. While losing is never fun, Riverton/Tri-City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Hillsboro are ranked 141st).

This is the second loss in a row for Riverton/Tri-City and nudges their season record down to 4-8-2. As for Hillsboro, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Riverton/Tri-City will face off against St. Teresa at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hillsboro, they will challenge Lincolnwood/Morrisonville/Nokomis at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lincolnwood/Morrisonville/Nokomis' last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
