Football Game Preview: Burlington/South Burlington vs. Middlebury

Burlington/South Burlington will challenge Middlebury on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps rankings project a close contest.

After flying high against Champlain Valley Union two weeks ago, Burlington/South Burlington came back down to earth. Burlington/South Burlington didn't finish too far behind, but the squad still lost 22-28 to Mt. Mansfield last Saturday. Burlington/South Burlington's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Middlebury faced Burr & Burton in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Middlebury came out on top against Burr & Burton by a score of 21-13. The success represented a nice turnaround for Middlebury, who in their last game suffered a tough 7-42 defeat.

Middlebury's victory lifted them to 3-3 while Burlington/South Burlington's defeat dropped them down to 4-2. We'll see if Middlebury's success rolls on or if Burlington/South Burlington are able to steal their positive momentum.
