Basketball Recap: Estero Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Estero faced off against Dunbar on Monday. The contest between the Wildcats and the Tigers didn't end well, with the Wildcats falling 71-53. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 93-77 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2019.

Loss or not, Estero got some senior leadership from Ashton Peterson and Andrew Tetrault. Peterson posted 17 points, while Tetrault scored 12 points. Peterson's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Estero and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Dunbar, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Estero will face off against Bonita Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dunbar, they will take on Oasis at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
