Basketball Game Preview: Monte Alto Blue Devil vs. IDEA North Mission

Monte Alto is 0-5 against IDEA North Mission since February of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Monte Alto Blue Devil will face off against IDEA North Mission at 7:00 p.m. Monte Alto knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully IDEA North Mission likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Monte Alto blew past Vanguard Academy Mozart, posting a 79-40 victory. The Blue Devil have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 23 points or more this season.

IDEA North Mission fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 46-38 victory over IDEA Edinburg College Prep on Wednesday.

Monte Alto's win bumped their record up to 15-12. As for IDEA North Mission, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.

Monte Alto came up short against IDEA North Mission when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 56-47. Can Monte Alto avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
