Softball Recap: Dayton Comes Up Short

Dayton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 6-3 to the Crater Comets.

Dayton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Macie Hannum, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Dayton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Crater, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Looking ahead, Dayton will take on Damonte Ranch in a tournament on Saturday. Damonte Ranch has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.4 runs per game on average), something Dayton will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Crater, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Eugene at 5:00 p.m. on April 8.
