Basketball Recap: Eagle's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

Eagle won the last time they faced Capital and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagle Mustangs walked away with a 69-62 win over the Capital Golden Eagles. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 34th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eagle found their leader in sophomore Berkley Jones, who went 7 for 11 on her way to 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Porter Wood, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points and six rebounds.

Eagle was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Eagle's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Capital, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Eagle will square off against Meridian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Capital, they will challenge Ridgevue at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Capital is facing Ridgevue at the right time seeing as Ridgevue is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
