Baseball Recap: Jefferson-Morgan Comes Up Short

Jefferson-Morgan was the 7-5 winner over Avella when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Rockets fell 11-8 to the Eagles on Tuesday.

Brayden Ellsworth led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Deakyn DeHoet also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Jefferson-Morgan dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Avella, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

While Jefferson-Morgan had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
