Soccer Game Preview: Vacaville vs. Pioneer

The Vacaville Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Pioneer Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vacaville is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.

Vacaville's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Rodriguez. Give the Bulldogs' defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Sophia Franzoni and Sophia Brenes scored all three of Vacaville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 23 goals.

Meanwhile, Pioneer had just enough and edged Wood out 2-1 on Tuesday.

Vacaville's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those five games. As for Pioneer, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Vacaville took their win against Pioneer in their previous meeting on January 14th by a conclusive 6-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vacaville since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
