After losing to Borah the last time they met, Capital decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Golden Eagles put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 20-12 win on Thursday. Considering the Golden Eagles have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Capital got a massive performance out of McKenna Chavez, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-5. That's the most home runs Chavez has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Stone, who went 5-for-6 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Capital kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 24 hits. They are 10-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Capital's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Borah, they dropped their record down to 3-16 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Capital will venture away from home to challenge Owyhee at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Borah, they will head out to square off against Ridgevue at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Warhawks at the right time seeing as the Warhawks are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
