Softball Recap: Strom Thurmond Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chesnee, Strom Thurmond was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chester Cyclones a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Madison Rodrigues's shutout, as she gave up just four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 15 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lawsyn Lowe and Leigh Anne Strock did most of the damage at the plate: Lowe went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Strock went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kinley French, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Strom Thurmond has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chester, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.

As of now, neither Strom Thurmond nor the Cyclones have any future games scheduled.
