Basketball Recap: Sweeny Bulldogs vs. Angleton Wildcats
Sweeny lost against Angleton back in November of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sweeny Bulldogs were beaten by the Angleton Wildcats 94-37. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-20.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Deshaun James, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds. Those 13 points gave James a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Clinton King -Varner, who posted eight points and six rebounds.
Angleton was led to victory by Bryson Campbell and Kadyine Jones. Campbell dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten steals, while Jones went 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Jones is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Noah Rossow was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points and four steals.
Sweeny's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Angleton, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 9-8.
Sweeny wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 89-39 defeat against East View on the 12th. As for Angleton, they will take on Brenham at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. Angleton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68 points per game this season.
