Basketball Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The matchup between them and the Lodi Blue Devils didn't end well, with the Columbus Cardinals falling 62-47. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 116th).

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Lodi, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus will face off against Wisconsin Dells at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lodi, they will venture away from home to square off against Lake Mills at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Mills knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 22 games -- so hopefully Lodi likes a good challenge.
